Joe runs a shooting ground in Derbyshire and has had a phenomenal career as both an athlete and as a coach to many of the United Kingdom’s best clay shooters.

Joe is currently the British Shooting Olympic Skeet coach, but spends the vast majority of his time coaching at grassroots levels and developing the next generation of shooting stars, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience.

As an athlete Joe achieved many great feats, including coming fourth in the 1972 Olympic Games and winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games in 1974, 1978 and 1986. He also shot an incredible 200 ex 200 in Olympic Skeet and is the only British athlete to have competed in World Championships in Olympic Skeet and Olympic Trap. Joe was also victorious in both the British and the English Championships in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s and the 2000s as a Veteran.

He has also experienced an exceptional career as a coach, working with many of the United Kingdom’s most successful shooters including Olympians Ian Peel, Sarah Wixey, Rory Warlow, Richard Brickell and 2016 Olympian Amber Hill.
